On October 17, the Kazakhstan chapter was inaugurated in the Grand Aiser Hotel in Almaty.

IMA (Institute of Management Accountants), one of the largest management accounting associations with more than 70, 000 members worldwide, celebrated the opening of the Kazakhstan chapter on October 17 in Almaty. With now nine European chapters – Austria, Benelux, Switzerland, Germany, Russia, Amsterdam, Turkey, Kazakhstan and France – and more than 2,600 members, IMA is continuing to expand in Europe.

The attendee list for the Inauguration event consisted of IMA-members, representatives of financial organizations, corporations in Kazakhstan and other individuals who are interested in professional education in financial management.

The atmosphere at the Inauguration was pleasant and friendly. Several guests, among them Malik Shkubarov, Chief Account at Citi Bank Kazakhstan, Kuralai Kudaibergen, CFO at Paek Energy LLP or Vyacheslav Burmistrov, Business Analytics Manager at HSBC Kasakhstan, spontaneously shared their impressions about the positive experience of applying the skills acquired during the exam preparation for the CMA® (Certified Management Accountant)-designation, IMA’s globally recognized advanced-level credential appropriate for accountants and financial professionals in business.

During the second part of the meeting, Chapter-members discussed prospects and a development strategy for the chapter in Kazakhstan. Furthermore, the members approved the bylaws, the businessplan for 2015 and the Board of Directors slate.

The Inauguration event was a success and left looking forward to the next event.
