Dear IFMA Member and IMA members,

As you are aware IFMA has run a full day IFRS Update Seminar in September for several years now. I am delighted to announce that not only are we running this seminar again, on Wednesday, 11 September, but also that we are running a full day IFRS Technical Workshop on Tuesday, 3 September, both at the Swissôtel Metropole as usual. I enclose the invitations for both events and as demand is likely to be high, we encourage you to sign up sooner rather than later.

The contents of the two seminars complement each other. The Technical Workshop on 3 September, which will be run by Richard Stokes of GAAP Seminars, is a hands-on seminar which focusses on IFRS pronouncements that are effective in FY2013 – the revised consolidation standards, fair value measurement and employee benefits, including pensions, and accounting. The workshop will be of practical use to those involved in FY2013 closings. The IFRS Update Seminar on 11 September, to be run as in prior years by Professor Chris Nobes, provides a broader view, covering not only changes that came into effect in 2013, but also matters such as revenue recognition, hedging, leases, etc where pronouncements are expected in 2013 that will impact future years; the update seminar will also cover general recognition questions and foreign currency accounting issues.

We are pleased to offer IMA members the opportunity to enroll for these seminars at the price of CHF 700 per seminar, which compares very well with the public price of CHF 800 and the IFMA member price of CHF 650.

Registration and pre-payment is required by Wednesday, 28 August 2013 if attending both seminars; or 28 August and 5 September respectively for attendance at the individual seminars. To reserve your place by email: signup@ifma-net.ch or call 079 261 6534, mention that you are an IMA member to receive the discount.

We look forward to seeing you at one or both of these seminars.

Kind Regards,

John Campbell
